Funeral - Mr. Matthew John Frawley


1915-2008

Mr. Matthew John Frawley, a long time resident of Sudbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Healt h Centre with his loving family at his side.

Beloved husband of Jeannette (Gagnon) Frawley. Loving father of Mary Jo (Art) Dowdall, Michael (Claudette), Phelan (Gloria), Doug, Pat (Bill) Nurmi. Cherished Papa of Mark (Nicole) Dowdall, Paul (Jeannie) Dowdall, Tricia (Felix) Cirelli, Shannon (Alistair) Smith, Kelly (Ron) Gould, Francine (Denis) Barbeau, Denis (Jon Novick) Frawley, Philip (Linsey Ernst) Frawley, Todd (Kerri) Frawley, Gregg (Kim) Frawley, Jordan Nurmi, Regan (Kyla Pinaud) Nurmi.

Great-Grandchildren - Kaytlin Dowdall, Kealin, Connor and Kellie Dowdall, Carly and Ava Cirelli, Duncan and Isla Smith, Isabelle Barbeau, Phin Frawley-Novick, Grace and Alex Frawley.

A well known respected life resident of Sudbury M.J. Frawley married Jeannette (Gagnon) in 1936 at St. Jean de Brebeuf Church, Sudbury. A proud Canadian he served in the RCAF during World War II. A devout Roman Catholic he had been a longtime parishioner at St. Clement's Church and more recently Christ the King Church. He began his business career at the United Cigar Store, then Sudbury News Service and then 38 years as general manager at Muirhead Stationers.

Cremation with entombment at Parklawn Cemetery.
