Come Lord Jesus !
The story of Christ's birth at Christmas is very well known ... but how does Christ's birth take flesh today? Does the fact that God came to live among his people mean anything to us today? How do we recognize and celebrate the graces of this four-week period of waiting in anticipation for the Solemnity of the Lord's Birth?
In order to assist with your preparations for Christmas, we are pleased to offer the following group of reflections. Based on the ancient Advent antiphon, 'Maranatha', a prayer which the faithful have used for centuries to invite the Lord to come into their lives, we have entitled this series of podcasts, 'Come Lord Jesus!'
This series offers daily reflections for the Advent and Christmas seasons. We hope and trust that they will be of assistance in the journey which you embark on with the Lord.
The first installment in this series of reflections, an introduction which includes some background information about Advent, can be accessed by clicking here.
To listen to each of the daily reflections, click on the date below. Biographical information about Saints which are celebrated during Advent is also provided, as well as scripture passages which guide our reflections.
More information about Advent is also available on the website of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
